Laura E. T. Swan

Research Scientist

Laura Swan (she/her), Ph.D., LCSW, is a Research Scientist in the Green Inequality Lab at the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s School of Medicine and Public Health. Dr. Swan’s research is focused on improving reproductive health equity and increasing access to contraception and abortion, with an emphasis on eliminating discrimination and coercion in contraceptive care. Dr. Swan also teaches social work graduate students at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Teaching

As an educator, Dr. Swan’s goal is to prepare students to be passionate and effective social workers. She strives to create a welcoming and successful learning environment by providing clear, achievable learning goals and pragmatic assignments while modeling social work values through her expectations and student interactions.
