Laura E. T. Swan

Senior Research Scientist

Laura Swan (she/her), Ph.D., LCSW, is a Senior Research ​Scientist in the Reproductive Equity Action Lab at the ​University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public ​Health. Dr. Swan’s research is focused on improving ​reproductive health equity and increasing access to ​contraception and abortion, with an emphasis on ​eliminating discrimination and coercion in contraceptive ​care. Dr. Swan also teaches social work graduate ​students at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Teaching

As an educator, Dr. Swan’s goal is to prepare students to be passionate and effective social workers. She strives to create a welcoming and successful learning environment by providing clear, achievable learning goals and pragmatic assignments while modeling social work values through her expectations and student interactions.
